Salvation and the Investigator

Wow, you guys have a lot of things going on for you over there.  The 20 miles, the talks and Dad going to Mexico along with Reid's talk and Clayton drinking milk (maybe that's why he's so tall).  Anyway, I'm in this basement of this building and there's a whole bunch of gutted computers on the wall.  It's like a computer horror flick.  ha ha!

The area is going good.  Charles got baptized!!!!!!!  He is so happy.  I'll send pictures later because I don't trust this computer.  He was baptized on Saturday and his wife was there in this awesome Kapalan wrap thing.   Definitely sprucing it up.   It was super good and we also had zone conference.  That was craziness!  There was so much information about the Spirit of Elijah and temples and telling your investigators all this stuff.  It was just nuts.  On top of marrying people, we also need to tell people that they cannot be saved in the celestial kingdom without going to the temple and they also need to do the work for their ancestor in the temple.  Not only that, they need to go all the way to South Africa to get it all done.  By the way, the church has a way that they can get there if they don't have the means right now.  They can make a small sacrifice to get everything put together.  Anyways, I won't bore you with all the details, but it's a lot of stuff on top of all the stuff that we already are doing.  President Kretly was like this "So someone will ask me, 'But president, are you telling us that we have to get people married, baptized, go to South Africa and go through the temple, get them sealed and them get them to go back and do it for their ancestors!!!!????' and I answer:  Yes, Elders that is exactly what I am saying"  I was like, holy cow!  What in the world?!  I guess salvation isn't just as simple as baptism... something I already knew, but I was OK with letting people get there by themselves.  Let's be honest here, how many with the conditions that they have are going to be able to make that trip without pointing them in the right direction?  It's like them finding the true church all by themselves and then getting baptized in this church.  I'm OK with it. It's not that hard and the program they have puts more responsibility on the investigator, so it's stress free... kinda.  Also, he warned us about pride and how great nations fall because of it.  Like our great mission and we are in jeopardy of this if we are not careful.   We need to give thanks for the things that the Lord has given us.  That's how you avoid pride, by giving thanks!!!  It's so nice and I am grateful that I am in this mission.

Everything is going great.  Elder Oryang is better and things are running smooth again.  DVD's and videos, we have a way to watch them and sometimes we watch them with investigators but sometimes they don't own a TV.

On the trunky question you have asked me, not yet.  That is a negative!!  I haven't received any flight plans yet.  I think they actually send it to you guys first or something.  But that's how that works.

Lot's of love,
Elder Proksch
