Wow! Thanks for the awesome letter.
This week has been a wash :P It was just kinda lame with my companion leaving for home and then having to wait for a new one. We didn't get much teaching in and when I say teaching, I mean meaningful teaching. Right now it's kind of frustrating, but at the same time, I learned that is not how I am going to end my mission here in another year, no joke. The rest of my week was spent with my zone leader Elder Phillips. Yes, I got to spend the rest of the week with my trainer. That was cool! I have to say that was probably the highlight of my week. He has changed a lot since I served with him and is now making a huge difference in our zone. He really kind of opened my vision with a lot of his ideas and now I am set to take control of my area and start having a lot of baptisms. Not to mention, my new companion, his name is Elder Cummins (yes, Reid, like the engine). Hopefully we will be able to turn out some results this transfer. I am so excited to finally be in control of my own area. They made me senior companion and my companion only has 3 or 4 transfers here in the mission. Anyway, I have a good start so far to this transfer and can't wait to start.
As for branch and ward activities here in Mozambique, there aren't very many, but they try to get couples events going and get people excited about going to the temple or getting married, so that helps out a ton!!!!
As for our stove... well, it was kind of old and it leaked gas sometimes. It was basically the last straw for that thing. The kid from Portugal was cooking, which was really funny because we joke with him all the time about how his cooking is bad. ha ha ha!
Oh, one more thing, Pres. Kretly said that by the end of August he will be turning in the papers to have a stake here in Mozambique. I mean, this guy wants it bad and every missionary is doing everything they can to make it a reality. I have the expectation that we will have a stake the end of this year and you will hear about it it during conference again. Pres. Kretly has us all really excited about how things are going in the country and I can't wait to make them a reality. We also have a lot of missionaries who are trying to find the best ways to teach and prepare people for baptism in the best way possible to maximize our efforts and results. It's really quite something to see.
I love you guys and thank you for all the support!
Elder Proksch
