Pigeon Revisted

Hey kids!   ha ha ha

Hey this letter is going to be kinda short seeing as how I talked to you guys like a day ago.  So, just an update on things... um our stove exploded.  Yes, that's right.  It just blew up.  It was nuts!  We were all in the kitchen.  Elder Vestia said that if we hadn't all been missionaries, we probably wouldn't be standing there any more.  Yeah, so scary experience.  So needless to say, we are getting a new stove.  Keep praying for us.  The prayers are working!  ha ha ha  Don't mean to start this letter out with a scary experience, but that's the life of a missionary.

I was so happy to see you guys on Saturday.  Just seeing everyone again was great, even Libby.  Last night we went to a members house to eat dinner and they were going to cook for us again.  So, on the menu was shimma, fried potatoes, chicken , and pomba (other wise known as pigeon).  Oh, yes, I haven't seen the last of that blasted bird.  I really didn't feel like eating it again, but I didn't want to offend the family so I ate a little bit of it and then filled up on shimma and potatoes.  Basically, pigeon meat should not be eaten.  There is almost no meat and there are way too many bones for it to be even worth it.  The only good thing that came with it was the sauce it was in.  It was really good.  I kinda figured that they would serve something like that, so I brought some hot sauce to kill the taste.  That's about it.  We just had a soccer game and we totally owned the other team (my comps team).  He's a little frustrated with me because of that, but I didn't make a single goal because I was in the goal making sure nothing got in.  A few got past me, but it was no big deal because we came out on top anyway.  It was way fun and we are planning another game next week.

Mom, tell Sister Bodrero that all the letters I write are for here eyes too.  I write to family, so that means she's included in that.  I can't wait to do endowments with you, Sister B. when I get back (that's right, I know what you're doing).  Way to go!!!!!   I know you are doing a work that is valuable and that many of your ancestors have been waiting for.  Way to raise the bar and score one for truth and right!  Every soul that has the opportunity to receive those ordinances weakens Satan's grip just a little bit more in this world. I am glad that I can count on you to be that ace that will strike another one for the home team.  Keep going, the blessings get more specific and more incredible the closer you get.  The trials also intensify, but when you find yourself in the temple they seem to just melt away.  Keep at it... you got more support on your side than a quarter back in the NFL.  The whole team is pulling for you, including me :)  I love your food, Linda, it's great.  I can't get my hands on food like that here, so it's always welcome.  Oh, and what color kapalana (African cloth) do you want, Linda??  I am still waiting on that request.

So this letter is kinda short, but I will write you a longer one next week.
Love Elder Proksch
