Thieves & Things

To start off, none of the sisters brought anyone to church because the whole town here is in festivities. Basically the streets have been filled with tradicional candies, rides and other cool typical things which means as missionaries we have to be a little more careful than usual of theives and other things. In fact, to evade this, last night we headed out of the town a little to our investigadors who live further out to give them a visit and not have to worry so much about the rucous and on the way out we saw a guy get robbed. The guy who got robbed had a gun. He started to chase the kid and didn't shoot. I am thankful for that. My companion and I both thought that it was not worth it to shoot someone. We were both very impressed that as the guy was running with the gun, he had it in his hand pointed at the ground so as to not shoot any bystanders. He could have shot at the kid, but there were a lot of people behind him, so if the man missed, it might have hit some innocent bystander. We both think he's had formal training.

We have also had a very eventful week because of multi-zones and other mission activities. This next week is the temple dedication, so we will be going there, but have to watch it at the stake center. Should be fun. Friday we will be getting the chance to meet President Eyring. The two missions are getting together for that.

Yesterday in church, I gave my third talk in a row here in Sensutepeque. ha ha ha But we are working on getting that fixed. We're trying to strengthen the faith of the members here in the branch.

Sorry to be short and so scatterbrained, but we have to go to San Vicente right now because a couple of missionaires are finishing their missions tomorrow and there are some elders who need companions. I have to laugh because some times I speak El Salvadorean English. Well, you guys have a great week, ok?

I love you all and I think they will start to call you guys for my return trip home about a month to 3 weeks in advance to my arrival. ok.

hola presidente
