First of all this week has been crazy, so this letter will probably be a little short, but I will try to fill you guys in on as much info as I can.
I am now out of the office, but part of opening a new zone. I am opening an area again and the mission limits are expanding. We are taking a little part of the other mission, so right now one of my companions is from the other mission. His name is Elder Canel. My real companion is called Elder Arburola. He is from Costa Rica (or as we say down here: Tico). He is really cool and is old as far as mission time goes. He only has 2 and a half months left here in the mission, so I get a little homesick talking with him sometimes. He speaks nearly perfect English. Its great. Like I said, I am in a new area and it's called Lourdes. It's by the coast, I think, and it's super hot here. The people are really nice and really receptive. Much more than my last area. I think the mission only get's better the further along you go.
Well, my birthday is getting close and I don't know what I want to do. Some members have invited me to their houses and others have their birthday the 21st of May so we might celebrate then. Depends all in how things go. Writing this letter today is rather hard as I am still stuck in Spanish mode, so if there are any big spelling errors, please desculpar me. I am trying to write really fast. Part of the reason is that I still need to write the president and tell him how the area is. They are really relying on us out here to sort out the situation. We are mixing 2 missions and its something that almost never happens in the the Church. So, I am being part of the building of the kingdom of God, making history in El Salvador. We must work hard to get what we need done. It reminds me of something that President Shields said, "If we keep at doing something hard, the nature of the thing does not change, but our ability to do the thing get's better." I can truly testify of that here in the mission.
Talking about the investigadores in my old area... honestly I don't know what the deal is with them anymore. I wish I knew, but hope all goes well. Once you leave an area, it's difficult to keep tabs on the people you taught. The mission is the best time of your life if you put all in and dedicate the time to the Lord. I know this Gospel is true and there is a power in the words of truth. They tend to ring out in the air for a little longer. It's awesome.
Well, I still need to write papa Perez, so I will either write you guys a hand letter later today or more next week.
Take care, love your son,
Elder Proksch
