This week things have calmed down again with the gangs and dad was right, it just get's to a point where you can´t worry about it and just have to do your work and keep your head about you.
To answer a few questions...First, this past week we did not have any baptisms, but we tried the guy who has the concern about being under the water and he wanted to postpone for one week more so he could be baptized with the family. So, if all goes well, we will be baptizing 3 this week end. To baptize this deaf guy was cool. In the mission we always give the younger and less experienced companion the opportunity to do the baptizing and the older one watches. Well, with almost a year I am feeling a little old now and it's true with all these missionaries who only have like a 2 or 3 months in the mission. The mission is growing rapidly though.
This past week I also ate a new food. They are the leaves of jocote, or Spanish Plum. I couldn´t believe what I was eating because its just a little weird to eat leaves other than cabbage, lettuce or things like that. Anyway, they taste good. A little sour on the end, but good.
I am learning so much to love the people here and it really helps. I am looking to send a few things home that I have acquired here in the mission. Things that I have recieved from members and people in areas that I have served. If I don´t, I won´t be able to fit things in my luggage. So be looking forward to getting some culture.
As for me and my condition, if you can call it a condition, I am fine. Just doing my thing, sometimes on cruise control getting things done, waiting for my world to get shaken up like a snow globe again. I know the day is coming when it will happen, I just wish it would happen already.
I had to laugh this morning when I thought about the first time I tried to cook pupusas because they were less then an admirable attempt. ha ha ha Let's face it, they were pretty sorry.
Speaking of food, I am getting used to the beans again, but the rice day after day still is wearing on me. Who knows....one day I will find a person who knows how to cook good Chinese unflavored rice that I can put soy sauce on.
The Church is true and, yes we have a prophet, and if you want to know how I really feel about the Church, just read the talk by Jeffery R Holland in the 179 th Conference about the Book of Mormon. I think it's title is something like "Safety for the Soul" or something like that. It's even better if you can watch it.

Here is a page link. Just click on the talk in the Sunday afternoon session by Jeffery R Holland and enjoy.
This talk helps me know why he is an apostle.
Well, I love you all,
Elder Proksch
