Thanks for the wonderful inspiring letters. It feels so good to know that the people back home love you. Wow, this is so much to respond to in this letter, I don´t know where to start. To start with...breakfast. I normally eat a little bit of sweet bread and drink something. ha ha Definitly not the milk. The milk here is horrible. I think it's treated with radiation. Lets just say it doesn´t taste good. On other occasions we eat pupusas and now I am sick of them. I never want to see another pupusa in my life.
To answer another question...no, haven´t been on a bike lately becase the guy that lent me the bike wanted to go out of my area and I can´t do that without permission.
For the next question...what do I miss as far as food goes? M and M´s. I miss those a lot and American candy. Oh, and jerky..... and a good steak, and .......... capresi salad, good Italian food that's not pizza, rice or beans. ha ha ha
This week was both not good and on the other hand, great. At first it wasn't any fun because all the gangsters here put a hit on the buses in the country. They basically said, if you don't take away the law that whenever you see a ganster, the police need to capure them and take them in. Apparently they didn´t like that, so they said, "take away the law or we will start shooting up the buses and burning the people inside. When the missionaries got word of this (which was before any of the locals), the president said to stay inside for three days. So we did and now we are all studied out. This past weekend we had a baptism. We finally baptised the deaf guy and we have a planned baptisim next week, but we will see how it goes. We have been challenging the guy for 2 months now and every time the day comes near, he always chickens out. We found out that is because of other baptisms he has seen.
In another church that he has been to, they hold the people under the water until 2 minutes is up and if you don´t make it, then God doesn´t accept you. I had to laugh inside when I heard this, but we took care of that doubt. So next week he should be baptized. Well, time is short and I have to go. I love you mom and dad and Logan, Reid and the rest of you. I just don´t have time to thank you all for your support.
Love,
Elder Proksch
