This Week's Letter-Elder Proksch

I have had a really busy week. First, last Saturday an apostle came and talked to us. It was Elder L. Tom Perry. He talked to us about how to be better missionaries and teachers. He gave some super good advice, almost so much good advice that I didn't know what to take notes of and what not to take notes of. Then yesterday, I barely missed Uchdorf. He was in the front lobby and I was off to the side and was waiting for a friend to finish a meeting so we could go to dinner. I saw a big crowd of people but didn't think much of it. Turns out, after he left everyone was like "Hey, that was Uchdorf". I was like, "No way!", because alot of times people just say that to see what others will do. For instance, they would ask, "Who do you think is speaking at the devotional tonight?" and someone will say, "Oh, Thomas S. Monson". Everyone wishes he will come, but the odds are against us. So we kinda disregard the rumor, but this time the proof was there. Another elder walked by saying, "Oh, he shook my hand." So then I thought, "Ok, this could be real." Then everyone else just backed up what I had heard. So I almost met Uchdorf. :( So close. Anyway, outside of celebs this week, I got some packages. Very thankful for the Suckolls and the Nessens, and of course, thank you so much for the package. I can be warm now and my roommates about died when they saw the jerkey. I had to fight them back with a stick. So thank you very very much. It means alot.

I was able to meet one of the guys that went on the 500 mile bike ride here. Lehi Vega. I will be getting a pic with him soon. I saw Elder Wheeler before he left. I got a pic with him. And I have been doing alot of contacting in the Referral Center, or the rc for short. Tasha fell through . We never heard from her again, but I made my first call out in Spanish last night. That was a rush. The guy on the other end talked so fast I could barely understand him. My teacher Hermano Hidalgo was there to help me but his mic was in and out so I could not hear that well or at all. So I said a prayer as the guy was talking and asked the Spirit to help me, I needed it really bad and I eventualy made it through ok. The guy bore his testimony about the video and I bore mine and we are sending missionaries his way to continue to talk with him. I am so excited about missionary work. It is so fun. All you have to do is open your mouth and the lord has your back. It is so nice. Well, I need to go. Not much time on the computer. Elder Proksch : )
