It would be redundant to say that it's warming up here in Vegas because it always seems to be "warming up". Nonetheless, it's getting hot again and that means more trips to Lake Mead and to the backyard pool. Our first trip to the lake this season was hot, but disaster-free. You see, it seems that every first trip to the lake with the boat usually produces some sort of problem with the boat...engine problems, battery dying, rudders getting stuck. This time it was a smooth trip. The only complaint would be that there were quite a few people and the launching area seems to be disappearing. O.k., there's actually another complaint, but it's more of a confession of idiocy...I didn't put on sunscreen before going out (and pounding the request into the boys as well) and I got a pretty bad sunburn. Erik didn't. He's the smart one of the family and that's why he's our fearless leader! The boys had a great time knee-boarding and by the time they realized they were having so much fun, it was time to leave. My favorite moment was when Alex was thinking he was getting pretty good at it and decided to hot-shot it across a wake. That was fine until he tried to get back behind the path of the boat and seriously face-planted it into the water. Funny for us, painful for him. Logan got better at the knee-board thing after he put away his don't-I-look-good-standing-here attitude and got in the water. Reid is still warming up to the knee-boarding and would really rather just drive the boat. Anyway, enjoy the picts and remember that you're always welcome to join us at the lake when you're in town for a visit...just bring plenty of sunscreen!
