Alex almost decided not to enter this year's Las Vegas Century Bike ride around Las Vegas. He just had too much going on with school, church, scouts and family. Thanks to his good friend, Charlie, he decided that it would be worth his time. It definitely was! Alex finished the ride in the top 30 riders (those riding the 100 mile course, not 50 or 25 milers). He said it was one of the best rides he had. Was it the family encouragement? Was it his younger brother prepping him with special stretches before the ride? Was it his mom's promise to take him to get a massage after the ride to cure tense muscles? Was it pure drive? Love of the sport or little wind that day? Who knows. All Alex knows right now is that he's glad it will be a little while until the next 100-miler...St. George, maybe????!!!
