I have come to realize that I am an information, knowledge junkie. I am not content to just sit back and watch the world go by. Learning something new on a daily basis is, I guess, one of my quirks...and I think I'm passing it along to my children. Don't worry, it's a good thing. I bring this up because right now I am stuffing my brain with all sorts of knowledge I would have never volunteered to stuff in my brain if it wasn't part of my job. Last week I landed a job at a local NBC station here in Vegas as a media tech/Master Control operator. I go home every day and my brain literally hurts. This is a job I've had before in Idaho, only 8 years ago, minus the updated technology. We're talking stuff like digital everything, HDTV, satellite feeds...you get the picture. There really is so much to learn, but oddly enough, I understand most of it. On top of the job thing, I'm still trying to finish my dreaded Child Development course through BYU. More information to store in the old brain. Not fun. Add to that, the occasional, "Mom, I don't understand this problem in Physics..." (in which I don't know a thing about!). I'm really trying to spread the information around at this point, hoping that others can hold it in their brains until I can get to it. Not working. All I know is that the brain is full and the body is just about on automatic!
On the sports front...Alex has his 100 mile Las Vegas Century bike ride this weekend and has been training like crazy for it. Logan is ranked 9th out of 21 runners on his high school cross country running team and his soccer team hasn't lost a game yet. Reid is entering a 5K race in November and is also training for that as well.
