A Day Off

Last week we decided to take a day off (actually it was Civil Rights Day-no school) and we went to our local mountain and played in the snow. Mt. Charleston is to the west of us and at various times of the winter season it gets snow. It also stays quite cold! The day we were there it was 21 degrees. For us, that's cold! We went up the mountain with some friends/neighbors of ours and did some serious sledding. The snow was great, the company was wonderful and the hot chocolate and popcorn hit the spot. Sometimes we just need to get away from "it all" and freeze our little bottoms! Erik and I commented that we now know for sure that we have definitely acclimated to the warm weather here in Vegas and ...we like it! The kids just like to see the greenery once in a while.

As for the picture of Erik...it took me several, no, numerous times to get him to face me and cooperate to take his picture. You know how difficult celebrities can be...I thought it was a great photo to put up on the website so you all could see what a handsome man I'm married too! (Don't worry, he can be a pill at times, as well.) Erik has been busy with his job as he is filling in for the head of security for a while until that person gets out of the hospital. So, he not only works landscape during the day, but also fills in security in the evenings. Put Scoutmaster into the mix of this and, well, we just don't see too much of him lately. In fact, we have to put his photo up on the website to remind us of what he looks like...:)

Hi all of you (even the elusive Eric),

Boy you were in the middle of a heat wave when you were up on Charleston, weren't you? That same time frame we were luck to see 12 degrees during the day and
-16 at night. It has warmed up considerable, all the way to 27 degrees.

All is well with us. Eric, long hours can wear you down really fast so take care of yourself.

We love you all,

Frosty & Ray
