We really don't know when we became history buffs. I guess it just happens after watching various documentaries on different wars on the Military, Discovery and History Channels. Today we had a wonderful opportunity to witness a Civil War re-enactment out one of our state parks. What a neat event. Reid and one of our neighbor boys and I (Tami) went since Dad, Logan and Alex were surviving a Scout campout at Lake Mead. The re-enactors were completely and authentically dressed for the part...all the way down to the last detail. These volunteers came from Arizona, California, Nevada and various other places to bring this time to life. Some even truely resembled the people of their time like Abe Lincoln and Generals Grant and Lee. The boys were very interested in the guns, cannons, and stagecoaches. I just tried to get as much information as I could. Maybe someday in the future we can visit the origonal sites of these wars. Until then...
