The next day, Erik went back to work in Denver and the boys and I tried out the coolest water park. I forgot to mention that as a family, we all went to Six Flags amusement/water park on Saturday. So, we were basically warming up to the Water World experience on Monday. Six Flags was fun because it had the rollercoasters and theme park attractions as well as the water park area. Nothing, however, could have topped our visit to Water World. Total water park. Total fun. Totally cheaper! This park had every imaginable slide, tube, wave pool, etc. Yes, we all got sunburns, even with sunscreen applied on our bods, but that was worth it at the end of the day when we could say that we almost rode all the rides. There were that many!
When we ask the boys what parts of the trip were the funnest, they mention the train ride in Durango (and the camping!) and experiencing Water World. The funniest part about the whole trip was that we made it home in just one day! We would do it again, though. Mom is hoping to talk Dad into taking a trip back east and visiting our nations history sites before the boys move out of the house. She calls it "The American Experience!" Dad calls it a lot of money.
