We were sad to leave Durango. That was a place we really enjoyed! The next day we woke up in Walsenburg and realized exactly how bright the bright yellow motel was that we spent the night at. No wonder the curtains were so thick! We hopped on the interstate and drove northward to Denver where we found our hotel for the next few days...the Drury Inn. Great place to stay. It has it all: indoor/outdoor pool and jacuzzi, continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, comfortable suites, laundry room, internet, etc. and it was actually cheaper than the yellow motel in Walsenburg. The rest of the day we hung around the hotel and used all their facilities to the full extent, then had dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. The next day Erik needed to go to work, so the boys and I checked out the local mall, Barnes and Noble, Old Navy and Target. Yes, they are the same just about anywhere you go! Nothing too exciting to report on this day. Just hanging out and using the hotel facilities to the max.
The next day was Sunday, so we drove around for a little and found the Denver temple. Naturally, it was closed, but we walked the grounds and took in the beautiful landscape. The weather held out for us during this part of the trip in Denver and for that, we are truely grateful. We were able to do many, many things without getting too wet. The rest of the day we drove around and even went up to Golden to walk the path by the river and just plain watch people. There was a historical walk on the other side of the river that was interesting to take in as it displayed what life would have been like back in the 1800's. The boys were only semi-amused at this, so our walk continued. Once again, we ended back at the hotel and had a quiet evening.

Hi Gang,
I've been a little slow on the blog reading. It sounds like everyone had a great, allbeit wet, vacation.
You really must come up and ride our Heber Creeper through Provo Canyon. I think the boys would like that too. No high cliffs to look down, but beautiful none the less. You get to go by a lake and follow the Provo River. No bus ride back, the train does a round trip. It goes to Vivian Park and you have about 30 minutes to look around then head back up to Heber Valley.
They do a special in October that lasts all month. It is an evening train ride with a Halloween theme, the "Creepy Heber Creeper". They also have a special in December "Polar Express" that lasts all month. They have other specials as well. It is just fun to go on a regular run, too.
Yes, I am trying to convince you all to come for more than a 30 minute visit.
Like the hairdo, Logan. My goodness you are all getting really tall.
Was hoping to come down this weekend but finances don't stretch for it. I am still not working. No "Ren Fair" this year again. I am saving for next year though.
Love you all. Take care.
Love, Ray
