Rare

I guess it's been a while since I've a.)included a picture of myself and b.)wrote. It really is a rare moment that my picture even shows up anywhere because I'm usually the one with the camera in my hand or am very particular what gets submitted to the outside world. This photo was actually taken by our new budding photographer, Reid. He actually does a great job with our temperamental camera. So now that we're talking about me, this is what I've been up to: painting Logan's room (going for that "beach" look), finishing up a college course in parenting/family life (to qualify to substitute teach, if want to), preparing for Girl's Camp (in YW program), cleaning homes (side job of mine), scrapbooking a few pages, planning family trips for the next month and naturally...eating bon bons by the pool. Oh, yes...and going to the lake on an overnight campout with the boys. Other than that...just the same old, same old.

As far as the boys are concerned, Logan and Alex are still working three days out of the week at the plant nursery and realizing what hot, sweaty, hard, long work is. Every day they come home, rinse off and then head to the pool. Mom and Dad think it's good for them and they are probably some of the few kids out there that actually know what work is. They have fun, too. Alex will be heading to the Ruby Mountains in a couple of weeks for Scouting High Adventure. Apparently, they will be hiking and "surviving" on their own with minimal tools and food for three days. We're glad he has all these great opportunities in the summer because when September hits, it's back to the books for him and Mom isn't going to let him off that easy!

Erik is doing well, except the other day he chipped one of his back teeth...you know...the one that was supposed to have a crown on it a couple years back, but never happened?! He's not too happy about the whole situation. Otherwise, he's just trying to stay ahead of the heat, wind and monsoons on his work properties. He's also looking forward to some much-needed vacation time.

Tremonton? What was wrong with Heber City, at least as part of the return trip? We miss you guys, we've crashed with you twice, and keep looking forward to the opportunity to reciprocate.

Tami, the picture of you in the previous blog is great. Logan needs to take a few more. I copied it into my photo album.

You need to pick on some unsuspecting soul to take a family photo of you on the Colorado trip.

Hope you have lots of fun traveling to Colorado. There are lots of sites to see.

Alex, keep up the hard work, and maybe, just maybe, if your schedule permits, next summer you can come up for a few days to our hard to bear 98-103 degree weather. Take in some fishing, camping, boondocking, and other mundane adventures.

Logan & Reid, perhaps if you work at it and your parents are ok with it you could take a couple of days out of your busy summer next year to do the same.

Stay safe always, especially traveling. I look forward to your next blog and details and photos of your adventures.

Till next time.

Loads of love,

Ray
