There you are. You're in the store, filling out one of those entry forms for a flat screen, plasma t.v. The one that asks for your name, address and the basics. "Surely it's my turn to win the prize," you say to yourself. "That flat screen, plasma t.v. is mine!" Weeks go by, even months. No word from the store. In fact, you've probably already forgotten about it by now....except....when you receive what looks to be a bogus email claiming you've actually won the prize and asking you to come by the store and pick it up. Well, that's exactly what happened to Erik this past week (the guy has ALL the luck). He went to the store, and sure enough, that t.v. was his. I can't even win a free soft drink from a fast food restaurant! What was really funny was that he wasn't quite sure where to put it. That was actually more of a problem than a blessing. Everything has worked out and he is very happy about the whole situation...while the rest of us marvel at his unique winning ability (he's won baseball tickets, phones, t-shirts, etc.). For the rest of us, it's mission impossible.
Speaking of Mission: Impossible...the family went to catch the latest in action movies yesterday at our new theatre, 2 minutes from our home. Just so you know, the story line was a little slow, but the action made up for 100% of it. In fact, Erik managed to "unroll" the lip around the popcorn bucket during the tense action scenes. The kids left permanent hand marks in the arms of the chairs and I just sat there laughing at them all (hey, they don't support my chick-flicks, so I can laugh all I want at them!). Until next time...
