Stand for Righteousness!

Hi Everyone,

I think some of your topics are related and if I can, I would like to
in the short time that I have, write and say a few things about that.
First of all, way to go Reid!  That takes guts and a strong testimony to
stand up for what you believe. Out here on the mission you get better
at it.  Like literally walking up to people and telling them that drinking
is bad, that it's against what God teaches us and you will destroy your
family if you continue.  Same sex marriages destroy society, plain and simple
because the family is a basic unit of the community.  If you try to organize
that any other way, you destroy the beauty and simplicity of what makes
men and women so great.  If anything, I believe that people in same sex
relationships should be accused of being sexist.  They don't want women
or men in their relationship.  In this, they are excluding and not giving
equal opportunity to anyone else.  Isn't that selfish?  Not only that,
but you can not bring children into the world.  I would suppose that
many would say that I am trying to push my beliefs on you
when they are not yours.  It's not a belief when it's and actual fact.
Let me explain.  Some would say there is no God (Korihor).
You can then ask them to prove that there is no God (which they
can not do because in so doing, they would have to be God
(be everywhere at once).  So if you can't prove it and we have
reason to think that He might exist, then let's pray to know if
He is there.  If you want a sign from Him then maybe you
should ask Him for one (to tell you He is there).  Personally,
that makes sense to me.  I am sure there are other reasons why people
would justify their actions but really there is no good reason for
this.  Personally, I would have failed that assignment Redi was
given to give the pros and cons of same sex marriage in his debate class
because I wouldn't be able to see any pros to that, but
good job for standing up for what you believe.  That is
something I have learned out of my mission.  When you are
built upon the rock of the Lord, Savior Jesus Christ, nothing
shall prevail against you (ten brownie points for the person who
knows the verse I am referring to). That is awesome!  I am so proud of
Reid.  You go get 'em little bro.  "The wicked take the truth to be a
hard thing to hear, yea it cutteth them to the very center".  This
kind of faith in action takes a strong testimony, not some fair
weathered, "OK, today I feel like being a Mormon" kind of testimony, but to
cultivate and to study the scriptures and PRAY over them that you
might be able to understand them.  Such a powerful concept because no
one else is going to tell them.   Like the prophet said, " Our actions
need to be above reproach, so that we can withstand the waves of this
world".  It's a priesthood responsibility.  Think of Captain Moroni.   I'm
not saying you have to make a Title of Liberty, but be your own Title of
Liberty and you will be strengthened.

To change topics just for a minute, in one day we walk a lot.  I don't
know how much, but it's quite a bit.  I'll have to think about it.  Ask me
again next week.  For your other question, we are working with a
couple named William and Judit.  They are fantastic!  They came
to church last week and we are super excited for them.

As for Dad's job, I will start praying about that and asking for help.
Oh yeah, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I didn't write it last week, but I love you guys!
