Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY COW, I really wanna do a triathlon when I get back! That looks like so much fun. Wow, I gotta say the pictures were great. Good job, Reid! By the way... my mom is a beast...13 out of 23 in your division, that's nuts and she wasn't even trying!! Seriously, that was way cool and I am so glad to see some of the pictures. By the way, I wanna see a picture of Reid's hamburger hand. ha ha ha! But wow! I am just blown away that you ran a triathlon, that's amazing (just don't beat me up when I get home, k? ha ha).
So this week for me was a little crazy. It all started off with zone conference again because they hadn't done it up here in Beria, so it was interesting to hear it all again and see what else I could get out of it. I can't remember right now, but I will send some things to you guys next time.
Next it was the dentists office. If you are wondering why I took out so much money last week it's because I had to visit the dentist's office twice last week. It all basically started when I noticed that my teeth were moving a few weeks ago. It's not the front ones, but the ones closer to where my wisdom teeth were. So I decided to try to get some help to see what was going on. I got to the dentist and he told me a few things. First, that I need to do a better job of brushing and cleaning. I personally was kinda like, "What?????" I had been brushing like twice a day and he told me I need to do a better job?? Then he said I needed to use more mouth wash because the plaque and bacteria are a lot more aggressive here so watch out. So I corrected that right away. The second thing on my teeth he said that my jaw is still growing and that is what is creating space in my teeth. He said I would have to use a device again, but he wanted to know how long I would be in Beria to make sure he could guide the maintenance (by the way, a little more info on this dentist, he is from Brazil, he speaks English and he is very good at his job, I got him as a recommendation from Sister Kretly). I thought I should notify you guys firstly because I am a little confused on what I should do because he wants to see my orthodontic records so he can do the procedure correctly and I want to know if I absolutely have to do this now or if I can wait until I get back to the states to have this done. It's not causing me any pain, but I don't want any undo cavities or anything crazy going on in my mouth if I can help it. I payed him for the cleaning and that's it. He only did a cleaning because he didn't want to do any work until I had decided. He also told me that since I have a permanent retainer that I need someone to do a cleaning every six months while I am out here or ill start getting plaque build up. I asked him if I could do anything to alleviate the plaque build up and he said to use mouth wash so that's what I am doing.
Anyway, sorry for the headache. I know you guys don't need it but on the lighter side of the news... I went to the Grande Hotel here in Beria. It's that hotel that Anthony Bordain went into when he visited Mozambique. It's the one that is no longer functioning and has a whole bunch of people living in it. I think on the show he turns the camera off because he said it was too bad to show. Let me tell you...Anthony Bordain is a wimp!!!! I have seen way worse in areas closer to the capital and yes, there are huge spiders there. They are stinkin ginormous! They have huge webs too, but they don't move very much and are mostly on the ceiling. Cool to look at though. We went to the top and it has a beautiful view of the ocean and it's really interesting to see. The people there are like the people I talk to every day. The only thing that really kinda stinks their quite literally is the trash. The elevators don't work there so people just put the trash down the elevator shaft. It stinks. The Grand Hotel is way cool though. That was basically my week. I still haven't made no-bake cookies yet. I am going to do that tonight with a family. We will see how that goes. ha ha ha.
Anyway, that's about it for this letter. We are about to go play soccer right now and I am super excited. They like to stick me in goal. Apparently I play good there (out of the way... hahah) Eventually, I'll make my way onto the field.
Lot's of love,
chtou
