Ola Family,
Hey, it's the end of another transfer and I'm still here in Mogaonine. I didn't get transferred and my companion is from Peru. So that's exciting. That's good to hear that Britton is getting out of the wheel chair and Kyle is playing fugitive. ha ha ha. Anyway, my comp is taking up the majority of this p-day getting packed and I don't know if I am going to be able to get to the store or if I am going to have to wait till my new comp gets here. My new comp apparently speaks perfect English, but I kinda rather hedidn't. I force myself to learn better Portuguese. Its just the city and the craziness kinda wears on you a little bit , all the drunk people and everything but the good thing about it is the fact that you have to learn good Portuguese to talk to people so its definitely a good thing that I am staying here : ) I am really looking forward to this next transfer. I will hit six months out on the mission in this transfer and it sure feels good to have that time under my belt, not to mention being free of all the extra training. It's funny because the past couple months in my life I have just been constantly training and to be honest it kinda wears on you to have people kinda look down on you because you're the greenie, but not any more. I finally am no longer green! ha ha ha. This past week not much has happened in the way of the work because everyone is preoccupied with the transfers and stuff but we have committed a few people to baptisms on the 22 of December and I can't wait for those because there are at least three people that need to be baptized out of our area. Getting excited for that.
Things are slow, but crazy at the same time, so I am hoping that this new companionship helps things stay interesting out here. This letter isn't going to be real lengthy but I thought I should right some of the updates out here and pass along some good news. Thank you for the birthday wishes and the picture of the family. Everyone looks good.
Everyone is starting to get ready for Christmas here. They have this saying which is boas festas and you have to give them something for their party or something like that. It's basically a way to get food out of everyone or money depending on who you run into. Everyone is kinda getting ready. It's just hard to think that it's Christmas when its so hot. No, no fireworks (like El Salvador), but I hear that New Years is pretty crazy so we will see.
Sorry the letter is so short, but we've got to get going.
Love Elder Proksch
