New Year's Letter

Hello,

Hey guys!  I just gotta say thank you so much for all the cool stuff that you all sent in the package.  It was awesome!  I love the shirts and all the macaroni and cheese.  I have already eaten like four boxes... it's great!!!!!  Thanks also for all the candy.  ha ha ha  Everybody was super jealous of my package cause it was humongous.  But ya, thank you for the Despicable Me shirt.  That one is awesome, I love it!  But I gotta say my favorite part of that whole package is that picture of the prophet you made Mom, with the colors of the Mozambique flag around it, super cool!  I look at it every time I am in my room.  I am worried about it, though because I don't want it to get lost or broken and having other missionaries in the house usually means they don't feel the same way about taking care of what you have.   What are you gonna do, though?  :).

So, I loved talking to you guys on Skye this past week!  That was fun.  I asked what other missionaries talked to their parents about and they said just random stuff like us ha ha ha.  It was good to see everybody's faces and ask them how life was going.  Sorry if I rambled on for a bit about the work here in Mozambique.  It's kinda my life right now and I wish I had some other experiences to share with you guys.  That was a lot of fun and it was good to see how the world looks when it actually gets cold.  I gotta tell you it is so hot over here right now, it's not funny.  It's like humidity plus hot plus calor, plus quent, plus a thousand degrees.  It's ridiculous!  Around five o'clock everyday we get a nice sea breeze that comes in from the coast.  I have already finished that John Bytheway book you sent and it's awesome.  I think that is one book I will read and reread again and again.  I love all the pictures!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Tell the Concoby kids thanks for all the letters.  They are always great to hear from and I love seeing the letters.

Okay, so on to this week and what happened.  Well, the start of this week wasn't that great.  Everybody was having a sleep hang over on Christmas and everyone was awake at six-thirty, but no one wanted to get out of bed.  It was really kinda funny actually.  We decided to spend the day singing Christmas carols in Portuguese to our investigators, but since we didn't really have anyone we could visit cause they were all out of town, we just ended up walking with the other companionship's and singing to their investigators.  That was pretty much all we did on Christmas and we were pretty tired from partying the night before, so the rest of the week was kinda slow because everyone was traveling and had family over.  It was kinda hard to get into the door.  But that all changed last night for some reason.  We had to get fourteen quality contacts last night (a quality contact is someone who is married and has a family) and here there aren't very many people who are married officially.  Here they are all just more or less together without being married.  But a miracle happened in about forty five minutes. We had enough contacts to reach our goal and I made most of the contacts.  It was crazy.  Usually we have to work all day just to get 5, but with the Lord's help, we seemed to just contact anyone and they were married and had a family.  This really kinda strengthened my testimony and I intend to test this again, but maybe in something like lessons taught or even baptisms.  Pres. Kretly has always said what you go after, you will get, so I think this is proof and I need to use this knowledge to get even better.  That was our week.  I am super jealous that Reid got to play in the snow.  I would kill to do that right now. ha ha ha!

But I gotta go.  We have some stuff to do before tomorrow.  Happy New Year's and I can't wait for transfers.  This will be interesting. ha ha ha !!!!
