Seeing Some Familiar Faces

oi!

Hey,  I just read your letter and a few others that I have received, lets see if I can answer some of your questions.  My companion's favorite snack is nectarines and yes, I found Houston.  I think I saw him right after he got out of his car and left with his missionary.  I did not see his family though.  He ran straight up to me and attacked me with a hug that I'm sure was from you guys and not only from him!  ha ha ha!  I have not worked at the call center yet.  I think they reserve that work for people that are a little more proficient in the language :P  I have only used my camera a few times.  I don't want to use the memory cards or fill them with too many things because it is so expensive to send mail when I get down to Mozambique and most of my time is spent studying here.  I'll send you the letter I got from My mission president down in Mozambique so you guys can have a heads up as to what I need to bring specifically for Africa.  Oh, and please tell Sister Moore that Elder Moore is doing great and he will likely write her on Saturday when they have their p-day.  Then they will switch over to a Friday p- day like the rest of the missionaries.

On a different note, I saw Anthony Alvey, one of my friends from Rancho HS at  the MTC  this week and it completely lifted my spirits.  :)  It was so good to see him and just talk with him.  He's going to Georgia, by the way.  Britton Stankosky should know him if you feel compelled to ask around. My favorite temple, by far, is still the Las Vegas one.  We did initiatory today because the endowment session eats up your entire p-day and that means you spend it in a suit.  :p  It's not bad, it just cuts down on the valuable down time you have.  There is still no substitute for the spirit you feel and the glorious work that is accomplished there, so please urge your sisters to go and do what ever work they can when they are there.

Congrats to Reid and his potential interview with the people at  Flip-n-Out.  That is awesome!  I knew they couldn't keep him out of there!  ha ha ha  He has to learn some new tricks so when I get back he can teach me.  At this time, I still have not received the sweater yet, but that's o.k.   Just as long as I get it before I leave I'm not worried.  Also this week I had the opportunity to watch Elder Holland's visit to Africa and what a spirit  that was there when we watched the video!  I cant tell you how much I want to be there right now just by the way he describes it.  If you have a chance I would invite you to go onto the church website, type in Africa in the box, go to media and watch some of the videos there. They are so powerful.  I can not wait to learn from these people and feel the spirit that is spoken about by Elder Holland.  I am extremely lucky to be going where I am going and I give thanks to my Heavenly Father every day for the opportunity.

I enjoyed your comment about Sister Georgia Johnson and how she was sealed in the temple.  There is no greater joy than to know that a family has been sealed together for ever and that is a lasting covenant that is well worth the work.  This week in my scriptures I have read and finished the book of Alma and all my high lighters have run out of ink. There is not one page in my BOM that isn't colored with some kind of high lighter mark.  There is a lot of good reading in there.

I love you guys and can't wait to get into country to tell you more about my mission.

Love your son,
Elder Proksch
