Interesting Week

Its been a very interesting week and a lot has happend and a lot hasn´t. Well, to start off, last Tuesday I got bit by a dog. It was just laying on the ground acting asleep and as I passed it, it jumped up and bit me. My companion says I screamed like a little girl. You know I probably did. But if you got bit by a pit bull.... ya. I kicked the stupid thing and it ran off yelping.

Last night I went on splits with my district leader and the first house we hit I ran into a gay guy. I mean we're talking total quier-bait. The first question he asked was, "Hey gringo, do you have naturally blue eyes or are they contacts?" All said with a lisp. Then as we left he started making cat calls at me. Well, needless to say, I probably won´t be passing by there any time soon. As we finished the day and on the way home, I came across a 45-year old woman. My first thought was "Ok, I´ll try to share the gospel with her". When I went to shake her hand, she wouldn´t release it. Thinking "great" so I have to get out of here. I ripped my hand away and as I was walking away, she called me a few choice words and asked why I didn´t want to go back to her place. I know Satan tries, but I won't let him win. I swear there are some really interesting people in the world some days. My companion is learning the rules and he is having a hard time following them sometimes. I find myself always building him up, just like the MTC with my first comp. My spirits are high, though. I have six months in the feild and I am to finish it with 2 years. I know it will be long and i think about you all a lot.

I got a really nice email from Sister Suckoll. It made me laugh a lot. They are some really good friends. I miss being able to joke around with Rob and I think about all the stuff he told me about before the mission. You know some things I thought he was kidding about but turns out its true. I ran into MS 13 the other day. There are some privilages to being a missionary. The tag protects you alot. I went up and talked to a guy with MS on his chest and arms. I was a little scared at first then it turned out he was really helpful in finding a person for us. If you can be on their good side and be friends its awesome. We played soccer again today and I am getting much better with the Latinos. I have blisters on my feet from walking so much.

Well I think I had better answer your questions.

1 My companion is from guatamala.
2 The first councilor of the branch is leading the ward, but the people don´t have much respect for him and our attendance has been dropping. We had 8 investigators this last week and not one showed. That just means no baptisims. :(
3 I don´t know which email you sent this message to me at but I got it and so send it there.
4 We have to cook our meals yes and alot of times we don´t have much time.
5 Recipes would be nice but I can´t use them very much. Its hard to come by ingredients here. I miss certain things about the states in that aspect.

Other than that, life has been good and I am mailing some letters home to you all. I am looking forward to talking on Mothers Day and hearing you voices.

Love Alex
