If it wasn't for our 11 year old, Reid, I probably wouldn't have very many pictures to post on this site. Honestly, I think instead of being that Indy race car driver he's intending to pursue as a profession, I believe he's destined to be a photographer somewhere down the road. He's always thinking of grabbing the camera at a moments notice (thankfully it's charged!) and he actually takes pretty good photos. Case in point: these pictures included in this entry...he took. The story behind it is simple. Our great city puts on a "Balloonapalooza" event which includes carnival rides, food, entertainment and of course, hot air balloon displays. This is a three day event that attracts many thousands of people and provides a lot of free fun. This year it got off to a difficult start being that we had a pretty good size storm roll in Friday night with 40 mph winds and some rain, therefore the event had to be postponed until Saturday at noon. That didn't stop a lot of people from attending. Music, night hot air balloon glows, and fireworks topped off the day until it resumed this morning. That's when Reid grabbed the camera. We were all supposed to be getting ready for church, but got side-tracked with all the beautifully colored hot air balloons flying over our neighborhood. The boys thought for sure that one was going to land in the park around the corner from our house...but it didn't. So, the next time anyone is in North Las Vegas around this time of year, you'll have to check out this main event, but for now you'll just have to enjoy the photos!
