There aren't too many things in life that just don't make sense to me. However, running for fun is one of those things. Why run when you can walk? What's the hurry? Where's the fun? I'm learning, really, I am. Logan is teaching his poor mom all about running...for fun and I'm happy to report that there is hope for me. You see, Logan is on his high school's cross country team, so he runs...for fun, or something. I believe for him it is the challenge and constantly trying to improve his personal best. This is all really ironic because this is the same boy that was on the soccer field a few years ago and we couldn't get him to run more than ten minutes out of the game to go chase a ball around a field. Now he leads his soccer team in stretches and runs for the entire game, complaining about those that are "dogging it".
Logan had his first cross country meet the other day against four other schools and he did very well. He came in 21st out of 45 runners, which is not bad for his first run (for fun!). His coach was quite impressed and even commented that he wasn't expecting the only freshman on the team to do so well on the first meet. He has one or two meets every week, so we'll have to keep you posted as to how well he does. As for mom, she has taken up jogging three times a week. Nothing special, nothing too painful and nothing too fun about it. She'll learn.
