Silly Season

Stores have been visited, bank accounts run low, kitchens are bustling...it must be close to Christmas! It's really a wonder that people remember Christmas at all with everything else filling up the days and nights preceeding the big day. This month alone, our family has seen our fair share of Christmas concerts, chorales, parties, hello's, goodbye's, cookie exchanges, gift purchasing, decorating, cooking, meetings and so forth. We are just now getting to the point that we can sit and enjoy what the season is truely for; Jesus Christ. Next year it might be a good idea for us to basically go into hiding for the month!

We hope that everyone is safe, happy, healthy and will be able to enjoy this upcoming Christmas day with peace in their hearts. As we grow older, Erik and I think about what really matters to us as we experience new things. Having each other, our children, safety, peace, good health and enjoying even the small things in life satisfy us. Sometimes that's what makes it easier to see simple days, moments and things around us in the beauty that they are.

I am hoping to get some scrapbooking in during this Christmas break and Erik is hoping to relax and just do whatever the day holds. The boys will probably want to play with their new gifts and rest their brains for a while. So far, the only thing that has happened is the "resting of the brains"! Oh, well! Merry Christmas, everyone.
