To some, reading is a luxury. Others, a happy past time. For the rest, a swear word. It has recently been discovered in our family that we really enjoy reading. I realize that for some this is no big discovery, but you have to understand...we have two teenage and one pre-teen boys. It's a big deal. Last Friday, as part of the perks of being in a homeschool group, we were able to get some great discounts on books from Borders. This is like going into the candy store for us. Logan got two fictional series books (the Alex Ryder series) and we haven't really seen his face since that day. Alex picked up a fictional book as well as a classic (that I'm truely befuddled by)...Moby Dick. He's getting into it and enjoying it so far. Kudos to him because I could never get past.."Call me Ishmael". Mom also picked up "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, hoping that Alex might want to read it after Moby Dick. Mom also found a great deal on The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (along with Cliff Notes!). Alex suggested that we pick up some aspirin..."just in case". Reid got two different fictional books that he's warming up to. Erik finally found the only Terry Brooks book he hasn't read yet, "Straken". What kind of books do you like to read? Do you have a favorite one?
Best greetings to everyone out there. We hope everyone is safe and happy.
