Hey Everyone,
Answers to some of your questions: First, yes, there is a lot of stuff from El Salvador that I am going to miss. I have talked to a few gringos who have gone home after only a few months here in El Salvador and they say they go through reverse culture shock. I think I might experience that too. Like wanting to bathe with a bowl of water out of a bucket and with cold water. I will miss the pupusas and I am going to miss eating 5 pounds of rice and beans every day. Oh, and I am going to miss the juevos de gallina india, or real eggs. I will miss the candy, the juice... which is super good. I will miss all the fruit, but most of all, the culture and people.
Yes, my mission is called the El Salvador, San Salvador Misson. I have a new mission president. His name is President Glazier.
For my needs...I do need more shirts. I only have about 5. Pants, I could use one or two more pair, but I can get those made here.
My week has been a little tough fighting against false accusations from local church leaders against the missionaries. I think they think that because one missionary is a certain way, that all missionaries are the same, but we are proving them wrong. My companion taught me a great lesson yesterday. I really wanted to say some things to the Stake President here, but he convinced me not to. He felt the same, but said that we just need to keep doing right, so he can see that we're different and here to do the Lord's work. I understood and so he has to look at our work to see if he is correct in his comments, but he isn't, so one day he will eat his own words. Other than that, we are doing great here. I have felt the Spirit so strong and I love doing what I do. No better feeling than helping someone.
I love you guys and take care.
