Cycling Saturday

He's been in training since the last cycling race...the Las Vegas Century Ride. Alex has another race tomorrow starting in St. George, Utah riding to Zion's Park (100 miles round trip). He's been cleaning his bike, training on the local roads as well as his indoor/outdoor trainer (with Lance Armstrong video). Needless to say, he's excited for the challenge. Most boys his age just want to make it through the day. I guess Alex is unique in this fact and enjoys a great challenge. He's learning about being prepared mentally and physically, the ettiquettes of cycling (like don't draft someone you don't know) and where his limits are. His brothers also get involved by cheering and supporting him. Dad trys to follow at a safe distance so that his puffed-up chest (proud of his son) doesn't get in the way. So, tomorrow we head to St. George real early in the morning and cheer him on, also hoping the traffic is kind to him being that the course is not a closed one. I've also thought of taking up the sport...at a lower starting level, of course. Would you?
